He married Savina Oxley in Jefferson Co, Oh, 9 Oct 1828. Savina was born 14 Nov 1808 in Jefferson Co, Oh. Savina was the daughter of Jeremiah Oxley and Elizabeth Murray. Savina died 13 Apr 1883: in Washington Twp, Guernsey Co, Oh, at 74 years of age.⁽³¹⁾ Her body was interred in Monroe Twp, Guernsey Co, Oh, Clearfork cemetery. [The birthdates of the children of this union are documented in a Bible record of George & Emma Alice (Smith) Casterline, which was in possession of Ada Casterline in 1995. 131 i. Eleanor⁵ Maxwell was born in Ohio 27 Oct 1829. She was married 3 Aug 1856 in Guernsey Co, Oh, to Greenbury Reamsours. Greenbury was born ca Aug 1800 in Md. Greenbury died 1 Nov 1876: in Guernsey Co, Oh, at 76 years of age. Greenbury had at least seven children by his first wife, Hulda. He was a glovemaker by trade.

132 ii. Elisabeth Maxwell was born in Guernsey Co, Oh 10 Aug 1831. Elisabeth died 18 Feb 1892: in Jefferson Twp, Guernsey Co, Oh, at 60 years of age.⁽³²⁾ Her body was interred in Monroe Twp, Guernsey Co, Oh, Clearfork cemetery. She was married 19 Aug 1863 in Guernsey Co, Oh, to Joshua Smith. Joshua was born 1804 in Penna.. (Additional notes for Joshua Smith⁽³³⁾) Joshua had twelve children by his first wife, Ann Henry (died 1861).

133 iii. Amy Maxwell was born 15 Sept 1833.

134 iv. Mary Anne Maxwell was born in Ohio 17 July 1835. Mary died 5 May 1918: in Wills Twp, Guernsey Co, Oh, at 82 years of age. Her body was interred in Oxford Twp, Guernsey Co, Oh, Carlisle cemtery. She married twice. She was married 1 Nov 1855 in Guernsey Co, Oh, to Jesse Gunn. Jesse was born ca 1832 in Ohio. Jesse died Jan 1863: at 30 years of age. She was married 9 Nov 1870 in Guernsey Co, Oh, to Thomas Casterline. Thomas was born Mar 1827 in Ohio.

135 v. John Maxwell⁽³⁴⁾ was born in Milnersville, Guernsey Co, Oh 27 Apr 1837. John died 4 May 1914: in Maysville, DeKalb Co, Mo, at 77 years of age. His body was interred in DeKalb Co, Mo, Shambaugh cemetery. He married Justine Barkley in Taylor Co, Iowa, 15 Apr 1868. Justine was born 29 May 1850 in Tenn. Justine died 30 Aor 1938: in Maysville, DeKalb Co, Mo, at 88 years of age.

John served in the military in Taylor Co, Iowa, 1866. John Maxwell went into the army during the Civil War in the 172nd Regiment. He came to Taylor Co, Iowa, in 1866. He moved his family to DeKalb Co, Missouri, in 1889.

136 vi. Eliza Jane Maxwell was born 1 Apr 1839. Eliza died 29 Jan 1921: at 81 years of age. Her body was interred in Oxford Twp, Guernsey Co, Oh, Carlisle cemetery.

137 vii. Joseph Washington Maxwell⁽³⁵⁾ was born in Ohio 31 May 1841. He married Sarah. Sarah was born ca1852 in Illinois.

Joseph was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census in Clayton Twp, Taylor Co, Iowa. lived Taylor Co, Iowa and Vermillion, SD

138 viii. James Maxwell was born in Ohio 7 Aug 1843. He married Mahala VanHorn in Guernsey Co, Oh, 20 Sept 1877.

139 ix. Nathan Maxwell⁽³⁶⁾ was born in Guernsey Co, Oh 12 or 19 Feb 1846. Nathan died 14 Mar 1922: in Worth Co, Mo, at 76 years of age. His body was interred in Worth Co, Mo, Honey Grove cemetery. He married Mary Ann Brubaker in Bedford, Taylor Co, Iowa, 9 Dec 1875. Mary was born 6 Apr 1859 in Harrison Co, Mo. Mary died 1949: in Worth Co, Mo, at 90 years of age. Daughter of Simon and Margret (Miller) Brubaker. Nathan Maxwell had light red hair and blue eyes -- a real mild mannered man and very soft spoken. The Maxwells owned land in Ringgold Co until their daughters were married when they retired from farming and bought 4 acres in Irena, Worth Co., Mo. (per Emma Jean Wood)

140 x. Rachel Maxwell was born in Ohio 30 Jul 1848. Rachel died 1920: in Guernsey Co, Oh, at 71 years of age. Her body was interred in Monroe Twp, Guernsey Co, Oh, Clearfork cemetery. She was married 9 Mar 1876 in Guernsey Co, Oh, to James Casterline. James was born Jun 1853 in Mo. James was the son of Thomas Casterline. There were no children born to this union.

141 xi. George Maxwell was born in Ohio 7 Sept 1850. He married Samantha A. VanHorn in Guernsey Co, Oh, 20 Jul 1875.
