First Generation

1. Mr.1 Curtis was born bef 1760.

There were three Curtis families in the 1790 Pennsylvania census: John (a potter) living on Front Street in Philadelphia (Southwark), Mary in Philadelphia (Northern Liberties) and Robert in Washington. Of these, both John and Robert had three males in their families: John had two of age 16 and over, Robert had one. Mary, however, had a family of only four females (the other two also had some females). Perhaps Samuel belongs to one of these families, or perhaps not.

I do not know the parentage of Samuel Curtis and I do not have evidence to say that Samuel and Truman Curtis are brothers. I have presented the two families here because of the proximity of the two men both in age and location. They might be brothers or cousins, ... or not.

Mr. Curtis had the following children:

child + 2 i. Truman2 Curtis was born 17 Aug 1775.

child + 3 ii. Samuel Curtis was born 17 December 1781.
